Rustic Borders

The Arts and Crafts movement sought to turn from the grim industrialization of the 19th century to promote the esteem of craftsmanship and beauty. The search for the traditional values of hearth and home encouraged the highest standards of design and use of materials. The emphasis on greater simplicity and artless interpretations of natural themes led to the widespread use of flowers, fruits and fauna as decorative motifs.
